You can also carry an itinerary & contact the passport office for a walk-in appointment. Don't forget it's an additional fee for expediting the process. If you are holding a Trinidad passport, contact the embassy asap. They can often provide a temp passport until you can renew it in Trinidad (if traveling from outside of the island).

The only way I know is to have all your documents in order and to go to the passport office with a plane ticket in hand showing them that you need a passport ASAP in order to travel.
