no nerve damage but its wat they call neuropathy .. (sensory neuropathy)
you may feel numbness ... or as if you are walking over cotton when you would be only walking over a solid ground .. if you injured you might feel pain but not that severe ....
its really not a damage to the nerves but decreasing its function in a way

My husband is diabetic. Sounds like you have neuropathy. It has to do with circulation in your feet. There isn't anything to correct it. But to keep it from getting worse, keep your blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol, under control. Take care of your feet, and do your best at regular exersize. A healthy body is the only way to keep it from progressing faster.
Good luck, and stay healthy!

High blood pressure will do it, and some kinds of blood vessels problems. Be sure to monitor your blood pressure and get your circulation checked.
